This 3-day certificate course from the 10th to the 12th of November, 2023 takes on the Pilates session with a physical therapy approach. Utilizing the BASI Block System and repertoire from the Comprehensive Program, course participants learn safe ways to work with clients who suffer from some of the most commonly encountered pathologies and injuries via lectures, discussion, demonstrations, and practice.
Debora Taddei, who is of Italian origin and born in Ireland, now BASI Pilates Master Faculty, has 18 years experience helping people to improve their lives with Pilates, in her studio in Marbella, Spain. In 2004 she graduated as a Physical Therapist in the European University of Madrid (UEM) a career that has helped her to apply her therapeutic knowledge to Pilates in a profound and efficient manner. Before embarking in the Pilates world, Debora had qualified as a professional Spanish and flamenco dancer in the Spanish Dance Conservatory of Granada (1991- 2000) . It was thanks to one of the teachers there that recommended her to do Pilates to correct a small spinal imbalance that she engaged with this method, that would completely change her life, both during her 9 years of Spanish dance school and her professional future.
Together with her colleague and great friend Guadalupe Ruiz-Gimenez, they founded their studio DARTE Pilates Marbella, where they also organise BASI Pilates teacher training courses as a host site in Spain.
Debora has been teaching Samantha Wood’s Advanced education Course “Pilates for Injury and Pathologies” for many years now and each time sees that it helps Pilates teachers, with or without medical backgrounds, to prepare safe and effective classes for clients with the most common conditions in our everyday practice. We know that Pilates is an amazing tool to manage pain and restore the imbalances that cause injuries but we need to have a clear understanding on how to adapt the repertoire to each pathology… and this is the course that can guide you through this in a very simple and effective way.
