MTTC Plus
Mat Teacher Training Course according to the guidelines of the German Pilates Association (DPV) and the ZPP (central testing body for prevention)
This course is an extension of our international Mat teacher Training Course MTTC with extra four module days. We are deepening the following contents: „Flow in a mat class“, „Mat with props“ and „teaching methodology- verbal and tactile cueing“, on the fourth day there is the briefing of the course concept for the ZPP (central teasting body for prevention). The course concept is recognized by the ZPP which means you do not have to hand in your own class break down and documentations for the participants. However, for you to get recognized by the ZPP you need certain prerequisites such as a qualifiaction in physical therapy or as a sports teacher. In any case the fourse extra days provide you with a much deeper understanding and knowledge of the method and is always recommended. With the MTTC Plus you may also qualifiy to become a member of the German Pilates Association (DPV).
Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to:
- Work according to the principles of Pilates and introduce these tenets to clients and students
- Assess posture and posture types, as well as detect postural deviations
- Solve problems and provide effective exercise solutions to many physical conditions
- Compile comprehensive and safe Pilates Mat work programs tailored to individual and group needs
- Adapt a class to different settings and environments
- Integrate small apparatus into a Mat class to achieve optimum results
- Use the BASI® Block System to successfully administer Mat work classes
- Analyze and understand the Pilates exercises based on anatomical and biomechanical principles
- Demonstrate at a high level the vast repertoire of classic Pilates exercises as well as a wide range of original BASI® exercises
- Modify exercises according to the needs and goals of the individual
- Establish a sound foundation to embark on the CTTC
- Become a member of the German Pilates Association (DPV)
- to get recognized by the ZPP with a corresponding main qualification*

Course Details
The Mat Work Teachers Training Course is taught by members of the BASI® Pilates faculty in Host studios around the world. Courses are ongoing in multiple locations throughout the year. The course structure is modular with in total 10 course days plus an examination day and approximately 100 hours of study, practice, observation and apprentice teaching.
Due to sickness and other important reasons, a student may catch up on course modules missed, at any course location in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or Scandinavia, depending on availability.
All courses, no matter where they are held in our licence area, not only uphold the educational standards of BASI® Pilates, but also in some instances exceed these to comply with the requirements of the Pilates associations in the various licence areas, an important factor in deciding where you are going to start your Pilates education.
Course Contents & Requirements
Six modules of the international MTTC course, including lectures, exercise analysis and practice, and discussion. Three modules („Mat Intensive“) with the focus on the three following subjects: Flow in a matclass, mat with props (in addition to the MTTC module days), teaching methodology. One course day with the briefing of the course concept for the ZPP which is a breakdown of 10 classes according to the principles of prevention.
At the beginning of the course, MTTC students receive the current BASI® Study Guide and a movement analysis Work Book covering the Pilates mat work and use of Auxiliary equipment.
Required after each module. Many host locations organize workshops (or informal study sessions) with the course instructor or assistant instructor to review and discuss material
Mat Work classes are essential and are offered at student rates at most Host locations. In addition most Host locations offer “open studio time,” during which students can practice on their own or in groups.

Your BASI® Pilates certificate will be issued when all BASI® requirements have been met. These include satisfactory attendance of all modules, passing scores on all required exams, submission and completion of all observation, practical and teacher training hours.
A membership at the German Pilates Association (DPV) and a recognition of the Pilates mat education through the ZPP (central testing body for prevention) requires an education of a minimum of 60 hours in-studio lectures within 8 days (duration max. 7,5 h plus 1,5 h break) and 15 hours of observation.

Tuition
It is our aim to make our BASI® Pilates training available to everyone. That’s why we offer the option of a one-off payment or monthly instalments. In addition to the 10 training modules, the course fee also includes the lesson plans and participant documentation for submission to the Central Prevention Testing Centre, as well as 2 training books worth €100 and the final examination worth €250.
Course fee for one-off payment € 1570 (from the 1st of January 2024 € 1850)
Payment by instalments (in monthly instalments) € 1700 (from the 01st of January 2024 € 2050)
The instalment payment is divided into monthly instalments, the first of which is due 7 days after we have given our approval for participation in the course, and the last of which is due 10 days before the 6th course module of the course for which the application was made. The instalments are shown on the invoice and are always due on the 10th of each month, with the exception of the first and last instalments.
